Everyone Can Do Something About Behavior:

The first step in managing behavior is to know how to utilize your “super tool” the environment. From the science of Applied Behavior Analysis, participants will gain knowledge in identifying and changing environmental events to make a behavioral difference.

Participants will gain:

  • A knowledge of how the environment shapes behavior.
  • Tangible steps to change problem behavior.
  • Steps to manage small yet persistent problem behavior.
  • Steps to manage significant problem behavior.

Stop Behaviors Before They Start

Unwanted behaviors happen. Let’s plan for it so you can stop those behaviors before they start! As a participant, you will learn strategies to keep unwanted behavior from occurring with tools that already exist within your classroom. Don’t let your content be missed because your learner couldn’t sit!

Behavior Tool Box  Suitcase

If your adventures involve managing children, you need a packing list that covers more than just the basics. Come unpack behavior in this session! We will cover behavior tools for your suitcase that prepare you for little persistent behaviors as well as big, serious behaviors. Beyond the tool we will discuss the foundational reasons why these tools will pack a punch!

The Effects of Positive Reinforcement on Behavior

Let’s take reinforcement beyond praise, stickers and token boards. This session takes a closer look at the science of positive reinforcement and its impact on behavior. Participants will learn to identify positive reinforcement to increase desired behavior as well as how positive reinforcement can create problem behavior.

The Value of Visuals

You’ve heard the adage, “A picture is worth a thousand words” and we believe it’s true! Visuals are a powerful environmental tool that supports learner understanding, independence and decreases behavior. In this session, participants will learn the function of specific visuals as well as strategies for incorporating them into instruction.

Self-regulation, calming strategies and replacement behaviors…Oh My!

Our kids are behaving BIG these days, let’s teach them some alternatives. The audience will learn tangible steps to teach children to behave differently by replacing problematic behavior with more appropriate replacement behaviors as well as using calming strategies to prevent the BIG behaviors from happening.

Autism Awareness

Understanding often solicits empathy and patience. Have you ever experienced frustration with a student’s success (academically or behaviorally) and then experience a paradigm shift when you discover they have (or may have) Autism? Come discuss characteristics of Autism, not for diagnosis but to sharpen your awareness, enabling you to “shift” for success.
